Why is Andrew Overby trying to fire the Board Clerk and County Administrator?

He claims its to save money. He claims its to protect taxpayer dollars. He claims there is a conflict of interest. But the truth is far more troubling: He wants to eliminate oversight and bring back the chaos and dysfunction that nearly drove Patrick county into bankruptcy just a few years ago.

Dysfunction in government creates the perfect environment for dishonest politicians to exploit taxpayer funds. When systems are chaotic by design, oversight breaks down, and accountability mechanisms fail, those with ill intentions can operate freely.

Deliberately creating friction, chaos, and infighting distracts the public and weakens Patrick Countys government. This makes it easier to divert resources, award questionable contracts, and engage in outright corruption. In the absence of effective governance, dishonest actors thrive, using the confusion as cover to pilfer public money while citizens bear the cost.

Our county administrator represents a different approach to governance—one rooted in accountability and efficiency. In just the short time she has been working in Patrick County, she has already identified and halted enough misspending to save at least double her salary annually, proving that a fair and open administration can protect taxpayer resources. Her efforts stand in direct contrast to the old boy networks influence, which has long clouded decision-making with self-interest and backroom deals.

Do not allow deliberate chaos to divert your attention from the truth. A transparent, lawfully governed, and administratively efficient system is always preferable to deceitful politicians who create a spectacle merely to distract and mislead.
